INSIGHT Magazine, the publication of the Illinois CPA Society, published an interesting article about leadership development and succession planning in its Spring 2013 issue. The article entitled "CFO Hunting" illustrates three strategies for nonprofits in search of the perfect executive hire. Author Chuck Green provides some great strategies, including networking, using LinkedIn to reach potential candidates, and using interim CFOs or controllers to test the candidate before hiring for the position.
