Legacy Professionals LLP is primarily an audit firm. As a result, the positions we are typically seeking to fill are for entry-level auditors. In addition to audit work, our auditors are responsible for completing the tax and reporting forms for our clients, so you will gain experience in preparing certain forms. Due to the nature of our client base--which chiefly consists of employee benefit plans, labor organizations, and nonprofit entities--the main forms you will be preparing include Forms 5500, 990, and LM-2.
You are required to complete 150 hours of coursework in order to obtain your Illinois CPA license. We are looking to hire persons who have completed the 150-hour requirement and who are already in the process of taking the CPA exam, or who will be looking to take the CPA exam soon after being hired.
While it would certainly be an advantage to have your CPA exam completed before starting with the Firm, we do not require entry-level auditors to have passed the exam before their hire date. We do ask that the candidate have serious intent to take the exam as soon as early as possible in their careers, and therefore we allow time off to take the exam, reimburse our employees for exam fees and review course expenses, and give a very generous bonus for earning the CPA designation.
We look for individuals who possess the following technical and personal characteristics:
While it varies from year to year, we generally hire 4-5 entry-level auditors for a January start date and 4-6 entry-level auditors for a July start date.
Absolutely. Even if we do not visit your school for a career fair or on-campus interviews, you can submit your resume and credentials here.
Our clients have various fiscal year ends. As a result, unassigned (slow) time is rare. During our busiest times, which generally occur both in traditional tax season (January through April 15) and in the early autumn, you can expect to work more than 40 hours per week. Additional hours will depend on your workload and level of responsibility. Employees are free to choose the time and location of any additional hours worked, subject to external restrictions such as client office hours and deadlines.
Our Firm strongly believes in promoting from within. The vast majority of our managers, partners, and principals started with the Firm upon college graduation. In fact, 29 of our 31 partners and principals started at Legacy upon graduating from college. We work with you to foster your professional growth and offer countless opportunities for continuing education. Your performance is reviewed constantly so that feedback can guide your professional development. Our open-door, friendly environment is a great place to learn and grow.
