IGAF Polaris' Business Assurance and Tax and Audit & Accounting Conferences
Eileen Brassil, CPA, CFE, Partner, attended the IGAF Polaris 7th Annual Business Assurance Conference while Lisa Volland, CPA, attended the IGAF Polaris 32nd Annual Tax and Audit & Accounting Conference. Both conferences were held January 3-6, 2012 in Orlando, Florida.
Eileen attended the Accounting and Auditing Update, Revenue Recognition, and Lease Accounting seminars while Lisa attended tax seminars, including an Economic View of Real Estate and Tax Practice Management.
The conferences provided many opportunities to hear about best practices and expertise from other firms around the country.
Association Forum's Holiday Showcase 2011
Partner Rose Doherty and Marketing Director Julie Tucek hosted Legacy's booth at the Association Forum Holiday Showcase on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago. The Showcase featured more than 700 companies as well as provided tailored education sessions and peer-to-peer networking opportunities. International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans Annual Conference
Legacy Partners Bruce Pavlik and Eileen Brassil were presenters at the IFEBP's 57th Annual Employee Benefits Conference in New Orleans October 30-November 2, 2011.
Bruce led a session on "Transitioning to a New Administrator." He also joined a panel of experts at "Ask the Accountants" roundtable session. Eileen presented on the topic "Refresher on Auditing Plan Expenses and Participant Data." Visit http://www.ifebp.org/ for more information on the Foundation.
Association Forum's Annual Meeting
Partner Rose Doherty and Marketing Director Julie Tucek attended Association Forum of Chicagoland's Annual Meeting on June 14, 2011 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. Over 450 of Chicagoland's association professionals convened for a day of educational events and networking opportunties. AICPA National Not-for-Profit Industry Conference
Partner Paul Doetsch traveled to Washington, DC to attend the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant (AICPA) National Not-for-Profit Industry Conference held at the Marriott Wardman Park on June 9-10, 2011. The Conference addressed the complex challenges faced by not-for-profit organizations, particularly in the current economy, through critical training and information on the latest updates affecting the industry. Association for Accounting Marketing Summit
Marketing Director Julie Tucek attended the Association for Accounting Marketing's (AAM) annual conference held June 7-10, 2011 at the Fairmont Millennium Park in Chicago. More than 450 marketers from the U.S. and Canada attended the conference, which featured programs focused on new ideas and timely topics directly relating to the current challenges and opportunties firms and marketers face in the accounting industry. AICPA National Conference on Employee Benefit Plans
Partners Eileen Brassil, Bob Cann, and Tom Theis attended the AICPA National Conference on Employee Benefit Plans, which was held May 2-4, 2011 in Las Vegas. Attendance at the conference allows the opportunity to hear about significant changes and current issues directly from industry experts and authorities from the AICPA, Department of Labor, and Internal Revenue Service. Illinois AFL-CIO Labor Management Reporting Seminar
Partner Bob Cann presented an annual update on IRS reporting at the Illinois AFL-CIO Labor Management Reporting Seminar. The event was co-sponsored by the Illinois AFL-CIO and the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Labor Management Standards. The two one-day seminars were held in Springfield on February 15, 2011 and in Burr Ridge on February 18, 2011.
IFEBP's Benefit Plan Professionals Institute for Accountants
Partner Eileen Brassil traveled to San Diego, California to speak at the IFEBP’s Benefit Plan Professionals Institute for Accountants on June 14-16, 2010. She spoke on the topic “Investment Auditing - Beyond the Basics.” She also moderated two sessions entitled “Selecting and Moderating Your Plan Professionals” and “Filing Forms: You Want to Sign What?”
