What types of positions are available? Audit? Tax? Consulting?
Legacy Professionals LLP is primarily an audit firm. As a result, the positions we are seeking to fill are for entry-level auditors. Our auditors are responsible for completing the tax and reporting forms for our clients, so you will gain experience in preparing certain forms. Due to the nature of our client base--which chiefly consists of employee benefit plans, labor organizations, and not-for-profit entities--the main forms you will be preparing include Form 5500, Form 990, and LM-2.
What's your policy on the 150-hour requirement?
You are required to complete 150 hours of coursework in order to obtain your Illinois CPA license. We are looking to hire persons who have completed the 150-hour requirement and who are already in the process of taking the CPA exam or who will be looking to take the CPA exam soon after being hired.
Do you have to be a CPA?
While it would certainly be an advantage to have your CPA exam completed before starting with the Firm, we do not require entry-level auditors to have passed the exam before their hire date. We encourage our professionals to complete the exam as early as possible in their careers and therefore we allow time off to take the exam, reimburse our employees for exam fees and review course expenses, and give a bonus for earning the CPA title.
What do you look for in a candidate?
We look for individuals who possess the following technical and personal characteristics:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
Must have 150 hours of coursework completed upon graduation and eligible to sit for the CPA exam
Energetic, positive, and strong work ethic
A passion for auditing in the field of public accounting
Understanding of industry work hour expectations--2300 hours annually
How many people are you hiring?
While it varies from year to year, we generally hire 2-3 entry-level auditors for a January start date and 3-5 entry-level auditors for a July start date.
If Legacy does not visit my campus, can I still apply?
Absolutely. Even if we do not visit your school for a career fair or on-campus interviews, you can send your resume and credentials to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What types of internships do you offer?
Legacy does not have a formal internship program.
What is busy season like?
During the busy season, January to April 15, you can expect to work more hours than a typical week. However, for your first year or two, the number of hours will only be incrementally greater. Saturdays are also required during busy season, but we cater in breakfast and lunch in an effort to show our appreciation for our employees’ time.
What's my growth potential at Legacy Professionals LLP and how does the Firm help me meet that potential?

We work with you to foster your professional growth and offer countless opportunities for continuing education.
