Terry Truesdale, CFE, is a Principal in the Legacy Professionals LLP Compliance Audit Department. Terry has been providing compliance audits to employee benefit plans since joining the firm in 2003. Terry helped design and develop Legacy’s current Compliance Audit Program. He has worked to implement technological advances for efficiency while also providing a more thorough work product.
He provides supervisory compliance audit services to many of the firm’s compliance audits and acts as a liason for many Legacy clients. Terry provides leadership to Legacy’s compliance audit department of 30 employees and, along with the other payroll compliance audit management team, is involved in planning, supervising, reviewing, and overseeing the completion of over 2,200 audits annually for over 75 clients. His responsibilities also include interviewing and hiring, developing curriculum, training, and mentoring for the compliance audit department.
Terry earned his Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation, which denotes proven expertise in fraud prevention, detection, and deterrence. CFEs are trained to identify the warning signs and red flags that indicate evidence of fraud and fraud risk.
Terry attended the most recent International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans Collection Procedures Institute.
Terry is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Greater Chicago Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
