The Department of Labor (DOL) will be holding a webcast on April 26, 2021, from 1:00 – 1:30 pm CST to help employers and plan administrators understand and comply with the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) premium assistance provisions established under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
A subsidy for the full COBRA premium may be provided for individuals who experience an involuntary termination of employment or a reduction in hours for coverage periods beginning on or after April 1, 2021 through September 30, 2021. The DOL will discuss who is an assistance eligible individual, the duration of the premium assistance, the extended election period, the notice requirements and other provisions.
