 Rose G. Doherty

Rose Doherty, CPA, is a Partner in the Chicago office of Legacy Professionals LLP. Rose is the head of Legacy's Nonprofit Practice Group.  She specializes in accounting and auditing services for not-for-profits, including associations, charitable organizations, and other nonprofit entities.  Rose supervises senior managers, managers, supervising seniors, seniors and staff accountants as they perform client engagements.  She also consults with clients and their staffs regarding accounting, auditing, and reporting matters.  Rose serves on the Firm's Management Committee.

Rose is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society where she is a member of the Society's Nonprofit Organizations Committee. She also serves as the chair of the Nonprofit Organizations Committee's Roundtable Subcommittee. She is a member of the ICPAS' legislative contact program. Rose recently received the Illinois CPA Society's Distinguished Service Award for her significant contributions to the ICPAS' Nonprofit Organizations Committee.

 

Rose is also a member of the Association Forum of Chicagoland, where she serves on the Professional Practices Committee.  Furthermore, Rose is listed in the National Register's Who's Who in Executives and Professionals.
 
Recent presentations have included, Fraud Prevention, Internal Controls, UPMIFA, Lessons from the New 990, and Finance and Audit Committee Responsibilities.  Rose is the editor of Legacy Advisor, Not-For-Profit Organizations, and her articles have been reprinted in Association Forum's FORUM magazine.
 
Rose's outside interests include involvement in a number of charitable and civic organizations. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the AMA (American Medical Association) Foundation and the Chair of their Audit Committee. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago and is a past President of the Lupus Foundation of America - Illinois Chapter  She serves on the Leadership Council Community Health Charities and the Illinois Attorney General's Charitable Advisory Council.  
 
Rose received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1983 from DePaul University. She went on to receive her MBA in Finance from Rosary College (now known as Dominican University).
