Julie S. Tucek
Julie Tucek is the Marketing Director for Legacy Professionals LLP. Julie joined the Firm in 1998 (as Thomas Havey LLP). Prior to joining Legacy, she was the first Marketing Director (and Marketing Coordinator) at Eggleston Smith, P.C., a regional CPA firm in southeastern Virginia (now Witt Mares). At Legacy, Julie is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the Firm's marketing, public relations, and new business development efforts. She coordinates with her partners and managers to strategize on new business opportunities and works closely with them to generate and close new business. She provides marketing training and coaching at all levels in the Firm. She also has significant experience in project management of collateral materials design and developments as well as in tradeshow planning and execution.
Julie is a Past President of the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM). She most recently served as a Director from 2008-2011 and had served from 2001-2004. She is also a member of the Chicago Chapter of the Association for Accounting Marketing, where she is engaged at the local level. She has spoken at AAM's Annual Summit and at a Chicago chapter meeting on the Proposal Process and Tracking Results and the AAM Salary Survey.
Julie is a contributing author to Bull's Eye! The Ultimate How-To Marketing and Sales Guide for CPAs, the joint project of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and AAM. Her chapter is entitled Gaining Client Feedback to Strengthen Your Practice. Additionally, she has written articles for MarkeTrends, AAM's member publication; CPA Practice Management Forum; and she has been quoted in numerous other accounting trade publications, including CPA Marketing Report, Practical Accountant, and the Illinois CPA Society's INSIGHT Magazine. Julie was named by Accounting Today as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the accounting industry in 2009. She has also been published in the State of the Union, the member publication of the Union League Club of Chicago. Articles have included Membership Benefits, Women's Task Force Issues, and How to Grow Club Membership.
Julie is a member of the Association Forum of Chicagoland, where she serves on the 2011 Holiday Showcase Exhibitor and Sponsor Advisory Group. Additionally, she is a member of the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago and the Saint Mary's College Alumni Club of Chicago. Julie is also a member of the Union League Club of Chicago, where she currently serves on the Membership Committee. She has previously served on the Analysis and Planning Committee, Communications Committee, Long-Range Planning Committee, and the Social Committee.
Julie is a graduate of Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a minor in Advertising, cum laude.
Julie competes in Triathlons, reads, and travels. She enjoys cheering on her two daughters at soccer, softball and basketball games, as well as gymnastics meets. She is also an avid White Sox, Notre Dame, and Steeler fan.
